What is ETagFix?
ETagFix is an easy-to-use Internet Server Application Programming Interface (ISAPI) plugin for any web server running IIS. ETagFix corrects issues with etags generated by IIS when a computer is restarted. Whenever the computer is restarted, IIS creates a new etag indicating the content on your web page has changed when, in fact, it hasn't. A new etag tells your web page visitor's browser that it cannot use the cached page and must download the page again to view the current information. ETagFix stops IIS from creating a new etag when the computer is restarted.
Who benefits by using ETagFix?
Anyone who manages an IIS HTTP server and who has trouble with web crawlers crawling their site can benefit by using ETagFix. ETagFix alters the etag produced by IIS so that the web crawlers and user clients will not re-download the web pages on your web server every time your server's machine is restarted. Since fewer changes to etags means less bandwidth is used, ETagFix is an excellent solution for IIS administrators who want to save bandwidth.

I get an error activeds.dll when installing on Windows NT 4.0
If you get an error "This application has failed to start because ACTIVEDS.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem," this is because you do not have Active Directory Services or Windows Script Host installed on your machine.
